Many times when hired for a shoot, an actor is not allowed to publicly share the details. This is to protect the marketing plans of the project and to guard the producers’ right to control the way in which their story is first presented. Usually, the restrictions expire after the media is released to the public. What follows is shared with permission.

Behind the Scenes

Last October, after driving down for a New Orleans callback, I was flown to Jackson, MS for a 2-day commercial shoot for telecommunications company C-Spire. It may have the been the most fun I’ve had on a commercial shoot. As you may know, I love the outdoors and as soon as I read they were looking for a dad camping with his family, I was all about it.

Actress Shannon H. Collins

Shannon H. Collins was cast as the mom. She’s a homeschooling mom who runs a children’s theater company in Covington, LA.  I think she’s awesome. A son and daughter rounded out our family. We laughed and sang duets from the 80s and watched magic tricks together. Oh yeah, we worked too.

My favorite part was kayaking at sunset. The natural light was magical. You know how sometimes the sun filters through the tree leaves and you can distinguish different rays of light? On water? It was like that. Sometimes you get lucky. I’ve mentioned elsewhere on this site that I want to do a film that involves me being on and in the water. I’ll take this as a first step.

This is the initial audition video. I’m glad that pimple on the corner of my mouth (it happens) and the odd red blotch on my left jaw didn’t keep me from the gig!

That’s a wrap!
